What We Do.
Specialist services for meaningful Exposure Management.
EM Lab brings together four specialist services designed to solve the practical problems Exposure Management leaders face every day: reporting that does not drive decisions clearly enough, quantifying new complex risks, lack of capacity, and governance expectations that continue to rise.
EM Insight.
Tools, reports and knowledge.
Decision-makers need clear, connected and decision-ready insight, but as reporting demands increase and the EM landscape becomes more complex, they can be left relying on fragmented tools, unclear dashboards, manual workarounds and incomplete reporting.
EM Insight helps clients design and improve the reporting, dashboards, tools and integrations that underpin effective Exposure Management, while also supporting new portfolio setup and regulatory activity.
Resulting in clearer insight, stronger infrastructure, less friction in the day-to-day running of the function and a more confident platform for decision-making.
EM Validate.
Methodology, validation and model change.
Internal capability and capacity can be stretched by the need to design a credible way to quantify risk, validate the resutling model and implement model change.
EM Validate strengthens methodologies, supports quantification, challenges assumptions, validates approaches and manages model change with greater confidence.
Resulting in more credible methods, efficient processes and decisions that are easier to stand behind.
EM Govern.
Governance, frameworks and audit support.
Doubt in Exposure Management outputs can arise from weak or unclear governance. If roles, oversight and independent review are not strong enough, decision-makers face increased uncertainty.
EM Govern implements, reviews and challenges frameworks and provides audit support to ensure that the Exposure Mangement system is operating correctly.
Resulting in stronger control, clearer ownership and greater confidence in the way Exposure Management operates.
EM Deliver.
Implementation, remediation and surge support.
If teams are stretched, even well-understood priorities can stall.
EM Deliver provides the capacity and hands-on support to enable remediation, implementation and priority work to be delivered.
Resulting in more momentum, faster progress and less risk of important work getting stuck behind everyday pressure.
FLEXIBLE SUPPORT TAILORED TO YOUR PRIORITIES.
EM Lab can support focused reviews, targeted work packages or broader programmes of improvement depending on the needs of your team.
Why EM Lab.
Specialist Thinking. Practical Impact.
Exposure Management functions often sit at the intersection of technical work, governance expectation, reporting pressure and commercial decision-making.
EM Lab is built around those realities from the outset, with support shaped to the way the function actually operates rather than adapted from a broader consulting model.
Commercial in focus.
EM Lab helps clients improve the quality of Exposure Management decisions in environments where commercial pressure, technical complexity and governance expectations all matter.
That means support that is not only technically credible, but also aligned to the business decisions, priorities and outcomes that Exposure Management is there to inform.
We focus on work that helps clients make better judgements, act with greater confidence and move important priorities forward.
Technical depth, applied practically.
Exposure Management often demands deeper specialist input than broad consulting models are designed to provide.
EM Lab brings technical depth across methodology design, quantification, validation, model change and independent review, helping clients strengthen the quality and credibility of their approach.
Our role is not simply to assess from a distance, but to apply specialist expertise in a way that is practical, proportionate and useful to the work in front of the client.
Structured in approach.
Where governance, oversight and accountability matter, EM Lab helps clients bring greater structure and clarity to the way Exposure Management operates.
That may include support on frameworks, operating models, roles and responsibilities, audit activity or the wider structures that support effective decision-making.
We take a measured approach: structured where it needs to be, practical in application and always grounded in the realities of the function.
Focused support where it matters most.
When teams are balancing reporting cycles, change activity and competing priorities, it can be difficult to create momentum on the issues that need concentrated attention.
EM Lab brings focused expertise where additional challenge, capacity or delivery support can make the greatest difference.
Practical support, from targeted input to broader change.
Who We Help.
Support shaped around your priorities.
EM Lab works with clients in a way that reflects the scale, urgency and complexity of stakeholder requirements.
Heads of Exposure Management.
For leaders carrying responsibility for the quality, credibility and progress of the Exposure Management function.
EM Lab helps bring sharper insight, stronger technical confidence and additional delivery capacity, so priorities move forward, stakeholders have greater confidence in the output, and leaders have more room to focus on steering the function rather than constantly firefighting.
Exposure Management Teams.
For teams working under demanding reporting cycles, technical priorities and change activity, often with limited room for deeper work.
EM Lab helps teams relieve pressure and keep priority work moving when internal resources are stretched, bringing targeted surge support alongside deeper insight, better tools and more effective processes.
Chief Actuaries, CROs and Risk Leaders.
For senior stakeholders seeking better visibility, stronger technical confidence and clearer support for decision-making.
EM Lab helps improve insight and decision support, bring greater understanding to methods and model change, and support governance that is proportionate, practical and aligned to the materiality of the decisions at hand.
Internal Audit and Audit Committees.
For audit and oversight stakeholders who need confidence that Exposure Management frameworks, controls and governance are robust enough to stand up to scrutiny.
EM Lab brings specialist subject matter expertise to audit work, independent review and responses to findings, giving stakeholders clearer assurance, more informed challenge and greater confidence in the conclusions they reach.
About EM Lab.
Built in response to a real need.
EM Lab brings together specialist experience across Exposure Management, governance, technical challenge and delivery.
We work closely with clients to provide thoughtful, practical support on the issues that matter most, from insight and methodology through to model change, governance and execution.

Graham Clark
Founder
Graham founded EM Lab to create the kind of specialist support Exposure Management leaders often need but can struggle to find: technically credible, commercially relevant and practical in delivery. His perspective is grounded in the real demands placed on the function, from reporting and methodology through to governance, challenge and change.
He created EM Lab in response to a clear market need for more focused, specialist support across the Exposure Management agenda. The business is designed to give insurers access to senior expertise where it matters most, whether that is strengthening insight, supporting model and methodology work, providing independent review or helping teams make progress on governance and delivery priorities.
At EM Lab, Graham leads the direction of the business and works closely with clients to ensure the support provided is thoughtful, relevant and closely aligned to the realities of the market.
